How the office holder is chosen
The President of the Chamber heads its Mesa Directiva, which the deputies elect in a preparatory session before each year of the three year legislature. On 31 August 2026 Raúl Bolaños-Cacho Cué was elected with 432 votes in favour, one against and 10 abstentions. The presidency passed from the PAN to the Partido Verde under a rotation agreement, according to La Política Online.1,2
